Matters of … Reconciliation
We face things in our lives as a family that can cause disunity. Sometimes it is the way we handle external circumstances and adversity that drives us apart. Sometimes it is our own internal conflict that makes us difficult to be with. We build walls between family members one brick at a time. Maybe it’s anger, laziness, isolation, or ill speech that causes it. But before long the family is broken in two.
Our oneness is never a lost cause no matter how high the wall. Just as Jesus broke down the enormous wall of sin that separated us from God by His loving sacrifice, we too can tear down this wall brick by brick. In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, he taught them that they could have gracious reconciliation through the grace of Jesus. We can have gracious reconciliation with one another through the grace of Jesus. How can we have this gracious reconciliation through the grace of Jesus? The text gives three ways that we can have this gracious reconciliation.
