Technology and our culture make it evermore difficult to control our own desires. We learn through 2 Peter 1:1-6, though, that when Christ lives in us, he gives us his control so self-control ends up being more like “Christ-control”.

Patience in the biblical sense is not just waiting, but enduring in the strength of the Lord, having a long fuse. Christ’s mark of patience is about a state of being, bearing with one another, keeping a lid on our anger, and become more like Christ who is patient with us.

In this message, Pastor Gary taught how the apostle Paul closed out the 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians like a great three movement symphony with a great cresendo! Paul declared to the believers in Corinth how they should live in response to the fulfillment of the resurrection at the time of Christ’s return. We can hear and follow these instructions on how to live and “be” in view of Christ’s return. The text gives us three ways to “be” in view of Christ’s return.

Pastor Gary Combs continues the sermon series “Rise Again – Come Again” with this third message from 1 Corinthians 15 about the nature of the resurrection body that believers will one day receive. Do you have questions about the nature of the body that will be raised upon Christ’s return? Do you wonder what happens to the body of the one who is lost at sea, dismembered in an explosion or cremated? How can God raise such a one? What about the infant or child who dies, will they receive a child’s body or an adult one? What about the deaf, the blind, the mentally handicapped? What kind of body will they receive?
